COMMON DUMP TRAILER QUESTIONS

HOW MUCH WEIGHT CAN A DUMP TRAILER ACTUALLY LIFT?

It depends on the hoist rating, not just the axle rating. Our commercial dump trailers feature scissor hoists or telescopic cylinders designed to lift the trailer’s full GVWR (often 14,000 lbs+) even when the load is unevenly distributed, ensuring you aren’t stuck shoveling out the last ton.

In Ontario, if the combined gross weight of your truck and trailer exceeds 4,500 kg (9,920 lbs), you generally need an annual safety inspection (yellow sticker) and a CVOR for commercial use. Most heavy-duty dump trailers fall into this category.

Our trailers come with a deep-cycle marine battery. It charges via the auxiliary line on your truck’s 7-way plug while you drive. For heavy daily users, we recommend adding an optional solar charger or plugging into a 110V trickle charger overnight.

Yes. Most of our low-profile dump trailers are equipped with slide-in steel ramps and rear stabilizer jacks. This allows you to safely load machinery like Bobcats or mini-excavators to transport them between job sites.

Telescopic hoists are mounted at the very front and offer extreme lifting leverage for high-density loads. Scissor hoists are mounted under the center and provide excellent stability for general construction debris. Both are superior to single-piston designs.
